"Helping To Save One Youth at a Time!"
TAY HOPE EVENTS
HOPE is best described as "Helping Our Population Excel." These events are meant to forward the TAY community in the direction of progress. By highlighting their voices we are creating a space where they can be seen and heard by many others. When viewing, sharing, and admiring their stories, know that you are creating space for these youth as well.
Our Backpack Drive, partnered with One Step A La Vez, is an event that gives necessary school supplies to youth in need.
WOSMOH partnered with many local businesses, schools, and mental health resources at the "TAY Hope Resource Fair", during our annual WOSMOH Hoops 3x3 Charity Basketball Fundraiser, to bring these pieces of the community together. The Resource Fair worked as a place where youth could connect with the community in a different setting.
Pictured is J. Meeks, alongside two Fillmore High School Students. J. Meeks came to Fillmore High School to support the youth, as a former Foster youth.
WOSMOH hosted the "Empty Frames Initiative: The Story of Foster Care, Volume II", which highlights the stories of sex trafficking victims, former Foster youth, and Foster parents through artwork. The artists took time to meet with our students to learn their stories, and engage in conversations, surrounding these topics, that create leaders.
